In the framework of LIGHT EDU Symposium, two members of the interdisciplinary research programme Configuring Light will coordinate a workshop on social research in design, an interactive process of “understanding a space in its complexity”.

Our path takes us through one of the oldest neighborhoods of the city through Unirii, Sfântul Gheorghe, Libertății and Victoriei squares, while we discuss important milestones of their evolution.

The studio method, or that of the integrated workshop, is considered the most important pedagogical tool for architecture education. We will investigate models that focus on theory, others with emphasis on the practical approach, and others that combine these paths.

The event aims to connect the challenges and strategies of the academic environment with those of the profession. In a time when all roads lead to a reconciliation between the two, we wonder if this intention can actually become reality in the near future, in this part of Europe.
